Airfield Lighting Upgrade

Built in 1981, in Neuquén Province of Argentina, the Chapelco airport serves the city of San Martín de los Andes, Junín de los Andes and the ski resort at Cerro Chapelco. The airport primarily handles general aviation services and military operations, as well as regional services.

The airport is predicting growth in passenger numbers, and as part of the country’s integral plan for the improvement of transport infrastructure, construction works including a new runway and renovation of the terminal building were instigated.

With over six hundred fixtures and ancillary equipment to be shipped, along with constant current regulators and taxiway guidance signs, atg airports’ facility in Florida, was a key stepping stone in the logistics. With the installation of the airfield lighting equipment the airport is now able to extend its operating hours for night time landings which was not possible prior to the construction work.

Construido en 1981 en la provincia de Neuguen en Argentina, el aeropuerto de Chapelco sirve a la ciudad de San Martin de los Andes, Junin de los Andes y la estación de esquí del cerro de Chapelco. El aeropuerto principalmente maneja servicios de aviación y operaciones militares tanto como servicios regionales.

El aeropuerto espera un incremento en el número de pasajeros en parte debido al plan estatal de mejorar la comunicación entre las distintas regiones del país y la decisión de añadir una nueva pista de rodaje y renovar la terminal del aeropuerto.

Con más de seiscientas luces y equipos auxiliares más reguladores de corriente constante y avisos, la oficina de atg Airports en Florida fue una pieza clave en la logística de este proyecto.

Después de la instalación de los equipos suministrado el aeropuerto ahora puede operar durante las horas de noches algo que no se podía hacer anteriormente.
