Runway Rewire & Install

atg airports were involved in a complete upgrade project spanning the entire runway/taxiway at Belfast airport. In order to remain fully-compliant in the areas of energy efficiency, the old halogen lights were replaced with full life expectancy LEDs.

Working at night to minimise operational disruption, atg liaised closely with the contractors Whitemountain, to undertake a full runway re-wire and taxiway modifications. Our project team managed all coring, saw cutting and installation of seating pots.

In addition, the project required the installation of a new Smart Control System, to both control and monitor all airfield ground lighting. atg also supplied and fitted 700 Iris fittings, including Taxiway centreline, TDZ and stopbars.

With careful planning and maximisation of working hours, the project was successfully completed on time and to budget.
