Our Commitment to Sustainability

At ATG Airports, sustainability is an integral part of how we operate, innovate, and deliver solutions to the global aviation industry. As a leading provider of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL), airside systems, and turnkey airfield solutions, we recognise both our responsibility and our opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable future for aviation. We are committed to protecting the environment and minimising the environmental impact of our activities, products, and services.

This commitment extends throughout our operations, supply chain, and product lifecycle, and is underpinned by the principles of transparency, accountability, compliance, and continual improvement. Our environmental objectives are to:

  • Comply with all applicable environmental legislation, regulations, and customer requirements across all locations where we operate.
  • Reduce the consumption of energy, water, raw materials, and other natural resources wherever practicable.
  • Prevent pollution and minimise waste arising from our operations.
  • Promote the reuse, recycling, and responsible disposal of materials and equipment.
  • Embed sustainability considerations into the design, procurement, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of our products and services.
  • Increase environmental awareness and responsibility among employees, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor, review, and improve our environmental performance through measurable objectives and targets.

Climate Action and Carbon Reduction

As part of our commitment to climate responsibility, ATG Airports measures and reports its greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

We have established ambitious science-based decarbonisation targets aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5°C and are committed to reducing emissions throughout our operations and value chain. This includes:

  • Improving energy efficiency across our facilities and operations.
  • Investing in lower-carbon technologies and products.
  • Working collaboratively with suppliers and partners to reduce emissions throughout our supply chain.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of our products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Embedding carbon reduction considerations into business planning, project delivery, and operational decision-making.

We recognise that sustainability is a continuous journey and will regularly review our climate strategy to ensure it remains aligned with evolving best practice, stakeholder expectations, and global climate goals.

Sustainable Operations and Resource Management

ATG Airports operates a Zero Landfill approach wherever practicable and actively seeks opportunities to reduce waste generation and maximise resource recovery.

Our environmental management activities include:

  • Segregation and recycling of waste streams, including paper, cardboard, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, electrical equipment, hazardous waste, and general waste.
  • Responsible sourcing of materials and services, with consideration given to environmental performance and sustainability credentials.
  • Monitoring environmental performance through audits, inspections, risk assessments, and management reviews.
  • Supporting innovation that improves resource efficiency and reduces environmental impact.
  • Evaluating environmental considerations during project planning, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance activities.

People, Awareness and Accountability

Achieving our sustainability objectives requires the engagement of our entire workforce. We are committed to ensuring that all employees understand their environmental responsibilities and are equipped with the knowledge and training required to support our environmental goals.

Environmental performance is reviewed regularly by management, with objectives and targets established to drive continual improvement across the business.

Transparency and Independent Verification

To support transparency and accountability, ATG Airports’ emissions data and Climate Transition Strategy have been independently assessed by Seedling.

Our Climate Transition Plan outlines our pathway towards a lower-carbon future, including emissions reduction targets, implementation measures, and progress reporting.

Further information and our latest Climate Transition Plan can be accessed via the Seedling platform.
